South Bend, Indiana
We partner with Transformation Ministries in their outreach to the youth of inner-city South Bend. Transformation Ministries exists to see the youth of South Bend become positive influencers within their families, schools, and communities. This is accomplished through various mentoring programs (Iron Sharpens Iron & City Light Kids) as well as first-job experiences (Greater Impact). As a ministry seeking to provide hope and a better future to youth and families, volunteers are the hands and feet in making that possible.
Ways to Pray
- That all who serve there would take the posture of a learner, and be transformed into Christ-likeness
- That students and mentors would grow in trust and relationship that would result not only in life skills, but real talk about faith in Christ
- That the Transformation Center would be a safe place in our city for students
Ways to Go
Iron Sharpens Iron (ISI) Mentoring Program
- Food Team—Prepare and serve a meal once a month
- Mentor—Become a mentor for a school year (6-12 grade)
- Tutor—Serve a local school or students in tutoring or in after-school programming
- Volunteer—engage with special events as needed
City Light Kids
- Mentor—Assist educational programming and homework tutoring for a school year
- Volunteer—Facilitate educational games & activities
Greater Impact
- Hire lawn care services
- Order screen printing services
